Pinks Using Aromaleigh Retro Hi-Fi Matte Eyeshadows

I am such a sucker for new Aromaleigh limited edition shadows, so I just had to buy a set of the new Retro Hi-Fi Matte eyeshadows. These are candy-colored matte shadows that are as bright as they are pigmented. I don't really use a lot of matte shadows because I like pretty, shimmery shadows. However, I do use some mattes especially for the crease, like Aromaleigh's Carolina Summer Mattes, but I use mostly neutral mattes. For the first time, I used colorful mattes, and I admit the experience was pretty intimidating. Mattes don't blend as well or as easily as shimmery shadows, and I had a hard time in applying them seamlessly on the lid. I did have a little bit of success in the end, though, because I blended shimmery eyeshadows together with the Retro Hi-Fi mattes. I guess the lesson I learned here is that I can never do an all-matte eye look.

Nonetheless, here is my attempt using the Retro Hi-Fi's. All eye products Aromaleigh unless otherwise stated.

Apply Urban Decay primer potion on lid and lower lashline. Apply MAC Fresco Rose paint pot on lid using a fluffy shader brush. Using a stiff shader brush like the MAC 239, apply Kookie dry on lid.

Using the same brush, apply Heels on Fire on outer lid.

Add Cranked on outer V and blend with the MAC 224 brush.

Using the same brush, apply downwardspiral on outer lid. Blend with the 224.

Apply a little bit of Willow on outer V. Blend with the 224.

Using the same stiff shader brush, apply a little bit of Kookie on the center of the lid.

Using the same brush, apply Flying Flower on the lid, blending with Kookie to give a little sparkle on the lid.

Apply a shimmery whitish pink eyeshadow to highlight using the Stila No. 5 brush.

Apply MAC fluidline in Blacktrack on upper lashline using Sonia Kashuk bent eyeliner brush. Using the Sonia Kashuk mini-detail brush, apply Kookie on inner lower lashline and downwardspiral on outer lower lashline. Rim eyes (waterline and tightline) using Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on eye pencil in Zero.

Apply Revlon false lashes in Intensifying. Apply mascara.
