Holiday Double Eyeliner Look Using MAC Uppity Fluidline and L'Oreal Lineur Intense
Monday, December 14, 2009
Here is an eye look that I particularly love because it looks absolutely festive, just perfect for the holidays. I loved the combination of the gold and black eyeliners, because the black really popped over the gold background, and the gold added richness and glitz to the look. I used Uppity fluidline from one of my favorite MAC holiday collections, Antiquitease. It is a beautiful yellow gold with beautiful pearl/shimmer. I don't use it that much but after experimenting with it, I'm glad I didn't part with this baby. I know I will be using it much, especially during the holidays.
I used L'Oreal's Lineur Intense for this look, a very opaque, beautiful stark black liquid liner that is such a dream to apply. I love the very black black. I also like the precise brush applicator. This is one of my favorite liquid liners, and I'm sure you will not be disappointed with it too. I had wanted a gold liner look, but I felt that the gold would wash out my eyes too much, so I applied a black liner on the very lashline to create the illusion of more lush lashes, and also to give the eyes a more defined look. I couldn't be more satisfied with the combination.
For my lid, I applied MAC pigment in Melon, one of my top favorite MAC pigments. It is warm and truly suits my warm complexion, and it is also a cheerful holiday color. I also used L'Oreal High Intensity Pigment ("HIP") matte duo eyeshadow in Poppy. I love using mattes especially for the crease because they give depth to the outer lid and pull the look together. I like the texture of the HIP duos. I also used my MAC mineralize eyeshadow duo in Inter-View, and I love the brown side of it which I use regularly.
I also used a tiny bit of Black Magique mixed with Smoke and Mirrors to give depth to the crease.
Here is a step-by-step illustration. All eye products MAC unless otherwise specified.
Apply Urban Decay Primer Potion all over lid and on lower lashline. Using a stiff shader brush like the 239, apply Melon on the lid foiled using Charged Water.
Using Sonia Kashuk's blender brush, apply the dark brown side of Poppy on the outer lid.
Like so.
Apply more Poppy on the lid using the same brush.
Blend using the 224 brush.
Using the Sonia Kashuk blender brush, apply the dark brown of Inter-View on the outer V and crease.
Using the same brush, apply Smoke and Mirrors mixed with a bit of Black Magique on the outer lid.
Blend with the 224.
Using the Sonia Kashuk bent eyeliner brush, apply Uppity fluidline on upper lashline.
Apply L'Oreal Lineur Intense liner close to the lashline, and over Uppity.
Using the Sonia Kashuk bent eyeliner brush, intensify or add more Uppity as you deem fit.
Using the Sonia Kashuk mini detail brush, apply Melon on inner lower lashline and the brown side of Inter-View on outer lower lashline. Rim eyes using Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero. Apply Revlon false lashes in Intensifying.

I normally don't like anything but black liner, but this look is gorgeous! I really like how you combined the two different liners.
Very pretty!
Kate Gene- so sorry for the delay but thank you for the kind words!=)
