Lumiere Mineral Face Enhancers/Radiances Review
Thursday, October 8, 2009
During Lumiere's sale last month, I caved in and bought these amazing face enhancers called Radiances. They are basically low-sheen minerals that you can use as a finishing powder or glow that de-flat your complexion and give a beautiful lit-from-within glow. I super love these radiances. They don't technically fall under highlighters because they are not really sparkly. They just emit this beautiful radiance that is subtle but noticeable. They are similar to Bare Escentuals (or Bare Minerals) radiances, but I kinda prefer these radiances from Lumiere because they are very low-sheen, but these truly perk up the complexion.
These swatches were done with a heavy hand, so you can really see the finish and texture of the minerals. They are best applied sparingly using either a powder brush or a fiber optic brush to give that whisper of radiance on the skin. I actually got those shades that are sort of on the neutral side in order for me to use these all over the face. Some of the Radiances are on the pink or peach side that work more as glows that you apply on the cheek area. I avoided those because, like I said, I prefer the Radiances that I can use all over the face as a finishing powder.

Island Sands is one of my top favorites. It is a nude tanned pink with a light glowy finish that is soooo pretty.

Nectar is also one of my top favorites. It is described as a spicy peach with a soft glow.

Winter Silk is aptly described as a "warm french vanilla glow". I can't rave enough about this shade.

Bare Skin is a soft and subtle, glowing light peach that you can also use as a glow on top of any blush. Lastly, Baby Face is a shade that I want to try next. It is a pale pink with low sheen and subtle gold flecks. I think the gold flecks would prevent it from being an all-over face enhancer, but maybe more of a highlighter on parts of the face that you want to accentuate, like the cheekbones and temples.
If you like finishing powders that don't just give you a polished look but also give a lit-from-within radiance that you can't quite put your finger on, try these radiances from Lumiere. They are truly amazing, I am a new convert!
