Jouer Age-Repairing Skin Perfector Review

I like Jouer's products because they're understated yet elegant, subtle yet classy, and non-pretentious but of high quality. I have a few of its products in my collection and I love them to bits. The lipgloss is amazing, powder blushes are finely milled and not splotchy, and now, I've tried another product from Jouer that I am happy to review.

This is an innovative product from Jouer that not only evens out complexion (thus acting like your regular concealer), it also claims to help repair signs of aging: the Age-Repairing Skin Perfector. Below are some of the company's claims about the product:

With a smooth beautiful finish, this mineral age-reparing perfector enhances and evens out complexion while fighting and repairing signs of aging and stress. The luxurious formulation of Dermaxyl® Complex and the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory powers of Vitamin E, Arnica Oil, and Japanese Tea Extract revive skin’s firmness and tone. Conceals the appearance of redness and other blemishes without the sensation of feeling heavy. Perfect for all skin types.

Jouer's Tip: With fingertips or a sponge applicator, apply all over or where needed as a light foundation base to even out skin tone. Layer for additional coverage.

My Take: I agree with the description that it conceals and evens out skintone without feeling heavy. The consistency is not concealer-like at all. In fact, it's like a very light, sheer liquid foundation in a rectangular compact. I was surprised that it's unlike a concealer texture-wise. It is easy to apply upon application, but the product itself is hard, not soft, and when you swipe your finger across it, you will get sheer, liquidy product that glides like a dream on the undereye area or over areas where you need to even out the skintone. And unlike regular concealers, the feeling is indeed very light on the skin. I can also see a little light-refracting properties on this as it lightly blurs imperfections.

I used the No.4 shade in Natural, which is described for "light to medium complexions with neutral undertones". I don't have neutral undertones, so I guess No. 3 should have been my shade, but surprisingly, No. 4 worked. I loved how it looks dark in the compact but adjusts to my skintone.

I cannot vouch for its skincare claims as I have not used this product long enough to make a conclusion on this. Suffice it to say that I really like how light it feels and how it evens out skintone and conceals small blemishes and lightens up the under-eye area.

I used 3 Jouer products in this look: the Luminizing Moisture Tint in Golden, the Age-Repairing Skin Perfector in Natural, and the Essential Matte Touch mattifier (review coming up!).

All in all, I really like this product. I use this everyday and I love the lightness and yet enjoying the concealing properties.
