Beauty Credit Lovely Green Tea Blemish Balm (BB) Cream Review
Friday, August 21, 2009
Here is another one of my favorite BB creams of late. I wonder why this brand is not that popular, and it has not been as blogged or as talked about in forums compared to the more known ones like BRTC, Skinfood, Dr. Jart, etc., when in fact, I like Lovely Green Tea better than several of the ones I've tried?
It is such an obscure brand of BB cream that when I looked on Ebay to buy this, I only found ONE seller of this particular brand. I quickly snagged the item and the seller sold it to me for only $13 I believe, including shipping, which by the way was shipped to me so quickly, all the way from South Korea. It basically comes in a nice pump tube (and I thought it was a squeeze tube, so I squeezed and squeezed and wondered why the product wouldn't spurt out :D). The packaging is simple but it is actually attractive in its simplicity.
As the name implies, Lovely Green Tea BB cream has green tea extracts that claim to soothe and revitalize tired skin. The product also claims to cover blemishes naturally and gives the skin a healthy glow.
(See rest of the review and look after the jump)
The product is actually a medium beige in color, and the consistency is neither too thick nor too goopy/runny. It is slightly more watery than SkinFood, which I prefer because it makes it easier to blend and doesn't end up cakey. However, it is slightly thicker than Missha Watery.
I like how simple it looks on the skin but it gives this certain luminosity as shown in the photo above.
As with my other BB creams, I apply this as follows: I place a small amount on the back of my hand, take my Coastal Scents's kabuki-on-a-stick brush, and apply the product on my face in circular, buffing motions till it is blended seamlessly. I apply another light layer as needed. I top off with a very light layer of mineral foundation, just enough to set the BB cream, then a light dusting of translucent powder to help in oil control.
I used a small amount of DreamWorld mineral foundation in Theia over Lovely Green Tea.
Upside:
1. Very affordable; I bought it on Ebay for $13 including shipping for a 35 ml. product, and you only need to use a dime size amount for each application. You can apply more if needed, but in light layers.
2. Makes skin look luminous and radiant.
3. Can be used as a tinted moisturizer or a makeup base.
Downside:
1. As with most BB creams, if you have sensitive skin, you might break out using this product.
2. Only comes in one shade.
All in all, if you have light to light medium skin, this might be a good product for you to try. For those in the U.S., you can find this on Ebay, and usually takes a week or so to arrive.
