Konad Nail Stamping Kit Haul
Friday, June 12, 2009
I've taken the plunge and ordered this Konad nail stamp art kit from Wowsocool.com, and it finally arrived! I have been dabbling in nail art recently and want to create other nail looks. As I said, I work in a conservative office environment, so outlandish nail designs are a no-no (I reserve them on weekends). However, even at work, I can probably get away with small, unassuming designs. I want to have the option of having a wide array of image plates so I can go crazy on the weekends, if I want to. =D Also, I bought this kit because I see some of my nail polishes languish because I just don't like the shade. Maybe adding designs with a different Konad special polish on top would change the way I look about certain colors of nail polish in my collection. I tried doing freehand nail art but I can't do it on my dominant hand, and using a stamp would make nail art on the dominant hand more manageable.
I got the Professional Salon Kit.
Ta-da! I got this kit because it has a wide variety of the special polishes (thicker in consistency than regular nail polish) and image plates. I also like that it already has the Konad topcoat in it.
I bought a separate dual-sided stamper, because if you check out the kit, it only has the big stamp. I also want to have a little stamp for little designs. Also in this photo are the 9 image plates from the kit (left out 1 of them).
I got four additional plates with the designs I liked best, plus an image plate holder, which I learned that I really don't need (I just need paper towels).
Instructional DVD and instruction/design booklet
I tried Konading last night and there is a definite learning curve to this, and I'm still learning! It was soooo fun, though, and I want to dig up all the nail polishes I haven't been using and try different combinations and designs. The design I picked out didn't really fully imprint itself on my nail, and I believe this is because the base coat was too dry (I waited too long I guess?), or maybe the way I stamped it on the nail wasn't proper. Anyways, will keep practicing and will post my progress!

Shobe, Lynn and ~thiamere~- there are cheaper kits that you can buy; you don't need to get the kit I got. :)
Ai- they're addicting; I get into a tantric state just by staring at the plates! =D
