On NARS Eye Shadows

I recently acquired these amazing brand-new NARS shadows, all for a grand total of $0.00. I got all these from a couple of swaps and I couldn't be happier. These are going to be staple shadows for me because they are neutral/highlight colors that I can wear everyday at work. I used to have NARS shadows but I gave them all away, and now I am re-discovering how amazing they are. They are very finely-milled, pigmented and just glide on like a dream on the lids. All About Eve is a shadow duo that features two beautiful shadows that are almost of the same shade but one's finish is a satin/low sheen while the other is a shimmer. These are both gorgeous as highlight or all-over lid shades. I used this duo in many of my looks recently and I just love the effect it gives.

These were swatched dry with no base. Don't be fooled by the swatches. The flash washed out the nuances but I swear these have very noticeable differences in person.

Cairo is another beautiful beige-y taupe that is a beautiful lid color. Paired with a darker color, this would be recipe for a gorgeous neutral or smokey eyed look, depending on the crease/outer V application and shade.

I still prefer MAC shadows over NARS ones because the former are more economical, have a mind-boggling myriad of color choices and textures, and are just more appealing to me. However, if you have the budget, NARS shadows are good investments because these are really finely-milled, pigmented and will last you quite a while.

Cairo is really pretty !

But Nars are cheaper than Mac, because
- the nars single is 3.5 grams net
- the nars duo is 4 grams net
- and mac is only 1.3 grams net.
Always compare with the weight not only the price ;)

Nikki- they are! And they are so finely milled, it's insane. :)

D10- mathematically, you're correct, but for me, MAC is still cheaper because I almost never finish a whole eyeshadow pot. It's like getting samples of mineral shadows instead of buying full size ones even though the latter is cheaper because it's more economical to use samples in the long run. So for me, MAC shadows are cheaper. ;-)

Shades of U :

I agree with you.

I forget to tell that's mac is less cheaper in Europe, an single eyeshadow cost 15 euros ( +/- $19.50). And a Dazzleglass 20 euros (+/- $25.72).

But I understand, if I'm lived in USA, I will buy more MAC ;) Mac's collections are fun ^^

The only eyeshadow I use many time is the "X" from Urban Decay, do you know it ? The color and the texture are awsome !
