Prescriptives Aglow Holiday Color Collection: Look and Review

I had the chance to try Prescriptives' new AGLOW Holiday Color Collection, and I was really impressed with the holiday items I roadtested. I tried the Winter Reflections Cool Eye Color Quad and the Colorscopic lipcolor in Golden Quartz Shimmer. I loved how the colors truly bespeak of the upcoming holidays. The shades announce the glitz and decked halls reminiscent of holiday gatherings and events. The Cool Eye Color Quad definitely boasts of amazing frosty winter shades. I oohhed when I swatched these as they are very pigmented and application is smooth and silky on the skin. My favorite colors would be the two bottom row colors, Twinkle & Eclipse. Twinkle is an amazing cool-tone frosty grey that is just perfect to use with silvers for this holiday season. Eclipse is a gorgeous shimmery deep blackened maroon on the compact but morphs into a charcoal-like color with deep red undertones. They would work as great crease or outer V colors. Quartz is a pretty frosty white color that would be great as a highlighter for the browbone or tear ducts. Opal is a delightful light shimmery pink that would be amazing as a wash or lid color. I also love the Golden Quartz Shimmer lipstick. It is a yellow-beige-gold lipstick that has lots of shimmer and is a perfect holiday lip color.

I wore these colors when I went to my MAC free-standing store, and the MA complimented me on my shadows because she knows me as a MAC afficionado. I would normally tell her what MAC shadows I'm wearing, but this time I just thanked her and smiled and of course I didn't tell her I was wearing Prescriptives. ;-) Now I love MAC to bits but I also have to admit these shadows are really good quality with great pigmentation.

I kept my shadows soft for this look, but you can definitely kick it up a notch and make it more dramatic for the holidays or on nights out because the shadows are buildable.
