Earthen Glow Minerals BOGO Haul
Wednesday, December 3, 2008
Last weekend was the perfect time to stock up on Earthen Glow Minerals products as they had an amazing Buy One, Get One Free sale. I got back-ups of my summer shades Helena (Cover Me) and Janelle (Youthful Glow), then I got some other shades I felt would suit my skin color especially this winter. I got Cover Me foundations in Yuan Yuan and Sheena.
My EG mineral foundations. Deanna in the center was purchased a month ago so it was not a BOGO purchase. As you can see, Deanna is a lot lighter than Helena, so I mix the two in a 50-50 ratio to come up with a perfect winter shade for me. Yuan Yuan however might be my perfect winter shade as it is lighter than Helena but retains the same golden undertones as Helena. I tried Yuan Yuan today and although under natural light it looks a bit dark, it would definitely work because darkness wasn't that obvious. I am not so sure about Sheena though because even though it is lighter than Helena, it is noticeably lacking the yellow/golden undertones that I have, so I am thinking I can tweak it by adding Deanna. Anyways, I am positive these will still work out on my skintone as mineral foundation shades are very forgiving.
I also got full sizes of EG shadows during the sale. I received the shadow samples in baggies as freebies.
I love the colors I got. Kauai Kiwi is the perfect lime green with golden undertones, while Golden Brown is perfect to pair with KK on the crease or outer V. Golden Brown is a beautiful olive green with gorgeous gold undertones. Papaya and Beautiful are pretty colors that are perfect as lid colors or washes.
Anyways, I am very happy with my BOGO haul as EG is very kind and soothing on my combination skin, and doesn't look cakey or unnatural at all. I now have seven full size EG mineral foundations. I am glad these babies don't expire (as long as they are kept in a cool and dry place, and kept away from water/moisture). I have years to enjoy these foundations. ;-)
