Aromaleigh Holiday Blast and Gothic Lolita Comparison Swatches

Yesterday, I posted an entry with pictures and swatches of Aromaleigh Holiday Blast limited edition shadows. Last night, a received an e-mail from one of my readers with this comment/query:

Hi Aileen! Your Holiday Blast swatches are beautiful! I don't know whether I should be happy or not that I already ordered before you posted them! haha Anyway, is Sneak a peek somewhat similar to Gothic Lolita's Angel Bouquet? And also, do I still need High Heels if I already have Champagne toast?....Maybe Burnt Roses is somewhat similar to Cookie Party.

I had to stop for a moment and think after I read this e-mail. I have never thought about Gothic Lolita, which is one of my favorite Aromaleigh shadow collections. It dawned on me that yes, there might be colors from that collection that are similar to the Holiday Blast shadows. I then decided to swatch some shadows from both Gothic Lolita and Holiday Blast collections side-by-side so that the shadows can be better compared to each other. These swatches were swatched dry without a base:

In this picture I included codes to indicate which collection the shadows came from.

Here's another angle so you can see the nuances of the shadows:

They are pretty similar but not exactly the same, and the reason why I love Aromaleigh shadows is partly because of the amazing highlights and lowlights in each product.

So to answer the question, Sneak A Peek is similar to Angel Bouquet but the former has cooler, pewter undertones compared to the latter. Sneak A Peek is closer to Teddy Wisp but the former has a lot more rosy undertones. Burnt Roses is a lot darker than Cookie Party and they are not similar colors at all. Cookie Party is perhaps closer to the discontinued shade of Aromaleigh called Earthen Sage because it has that distinct green iridescence that is absent in Burnt Roses. The latter has green sparkles, but these are not iridescent. Finally, if you check out the swatches I made yesterday, Champagne Toast has more golden undertones than High Heels and the latter is cooler, so they are totally different, and that's why I got full sizes of both. Anyways, hope that helps!
