MAC Sonic Chic: Mineralize Blushes

These are sooo exquisite!

So many of you know I'm a sucker for mineralized stuff (except mineralize eyeshadows). When MAC came up with these new mineralize blushes, I just knew I had to get them. The pigmentation is totally way off the charts. These are pigmented with a capital P, especially the medium to dark colors. You will not be disappointed with the color pay-off. However, since these are truly pigmented, I don't think you can use an ordinary blush brush if you have fair to light-medium skin. I will always opt to use my stippling brushes with these, as I looked like a clown with two garish spots on my cheeks when I applied these with regular blush brushes.

I am so glad MAC finally came up with these, because the limited edition mineralize skinfinishes (MSFs) fetch retardedly exorbitant prices on eBay and makeup sites, when we all know they retailed for less than thirty bucks. Pleasureflush for $120, anyone? It's just a pain to shop for these. Now, MAC addicts have not just one but nine amazing blushes with the famous skinfinish texture to choose from. They don't have any veining unlike the MSFs, but these are truly gorgeous that I overcame my initial disappointment when I found out about the absence of veining. It's a blush, not an MSF, silly!

As for my favorites, I honestly cannot pick just one or two because they are all SO pretty, I want them all! :-) Of course, I'd rather not get all because some are really similar to my MSFs. Truly lovely for me are Lovejoy (honestly, it's not super dark, just use a stippling brush and it will create a lovely blush with plum undertones), Nuance, Gleeful and Gentle. However, as I said, all are really pretty, especially since I can use them for different looks. I can use the lighter-colored ones if I have really strong eye makeup, and the darker ones to go with my neutral eye looks. I can't wait to play!

I love these swatches! Sooo tempting. How's the texture compared to beauty powder blushes? I have enough corals and pinky-peach blushes already. but nuance looks rather true peach in your swatch.

Hi Aileen! haha I just saw your comment, yeah the MUA that helped us (I wrote about it in that post cause it was so funny), I asked her if it would be ok to take pictures of my hand since I am technically not taking pics of anything in the store but my hand and she was like no you can take pictures of whatever you want! HAHA I think for the most part they DON'T allow you to take pics, but her in particular was just nice and I think she was the manager but I am not sure. So of course I took pics of the stands and all that! She was particularly pleased when I told her I was a beauty blogger so she didn't seem to mind that I was there for awhile snapping away!

As for the color payoff of the MES, they are phenomenal! A lot better than the MES from the Antiquitease collection in my opinion, and less shimmery which is good! I mean it has shimmer but a nice shimmer rather than looking glittery. I love em!

jiejie- aren't they pretty? Beauty powder blush's shimmer is finer, more subdued, while the mineralize blushes give off louder colors and more shimmer.

vanessa- arggghhh! Stop tempting me!! Yeah I noticed that the pigments are somewhat better this time around, but I just bought a bunch of Aromaleigh screaming colored shadows, so I don't want to duplicate my colors. But gosh, love the hues! The MAs around my area are pretty strict. I'm so jealous you have sweet MAs over there.

askmewhats- I love Dainty too, it's pretty by itself or over your matte blushes.

yellowfever- check my newest entry on mineralize eyeshadows, I did a 180 turn on those.

roxy- I agree! Those colors would look lovely on your skintone.
