MAC Tendertones and A Cool Heat Look
Wednesday, June 11, 2008
I had one Tendertone from last year and I didn't like it. It was too sticky for my taste, and the heavy container (same as the paint pots') were cumbersome for me. I also didn't like dipping my finger in the pot because I felt it wasn't as hygienic as lip balms in tubes. Anyways, I re-tried the Tendertones, this time in the newly-released collection that features more or less the same characteristics as the one from last year, but with six exciting new shades and four popular re-releases. This time, though, I've begun to appreciate the light, strawberry-kiwi flavor and the pretty shades. I really like Tread Gently, a very pretty soft lime green with yellow pearl, that just makes the lips very luscious looking. Sweet & Nice gives the just bitten lips look, a beautiful sheer red grape with red pearl. Lastly, my Hush-Hush is getting to be a staple for everyday, although I sometimes alternate it with my Strobe Blossom tinted lip conditioner if I don't want to dip my fingers in product. Hush-hush is a sheer gold lip balm with yellow gold pearl, and they are just gorgeous alone or on top of lipsticks or glosses. I still don't like how heavy the glass jars are, that's why I prefer to use these at home prior to my application of any lip product. It conditions the lips and preps them for lipsticks and glosses. These are light, sheer stains that are high in shine and are perfect for summer. These are also very moisturizing and pamper the lips. These amazing balms are an assault to the senses - bonbon-colored, yummy-scented, strawberry-kiwi flavored, moisturize and protect. The whole shebang.
Cool Heat Look
I've been playing with my Cool Heat eyeshadows and I came up with this look. I like how beautiful the teals and blues and greens pop. They are also very wearable, blendable and consistent with the Veluxe Pearl formula's reputation, these glide like butter on the lids and are just a joy to apply. I used Warm Chill on lid, Cool Heat on outer V, Blue Flame on crease, and a little bit of Submarine (Naughty Nauticals) added to the outer lid and crease. I believe I used Femme-Fi to highlight. I also used Buoy-O-Buoy lipstick and Comet Blue Dazzleglass for this look.
Here is another EOTD using the same colors, but the difference is that I used Goin' Bananas (C-Shock collection) to blend above the crease and to highlight.

I just got the Tendertones hot 'n spicy color yesterday and I LOVE it. As you mentioned, lip balm can be thick and uncomfortable, howerver; this product isn't. And the smell/taste...delicious!
Shen-hey girl, I'm missing your posts! Wish you're all right and not drowning in law school crap *wink*
virtuous blue- thank you hun, I bet the colors would look smashing on you, especially the teals and blues (like your name ;-) ).
LeeAnn: I want to get my grubby hands on Hot & Spicy too, the colors is sooo amazing and as you said, the smell is just deliriously yummy.
