MAC Cool Heat (and Other Good Stuff)

I'm gonna give you guys a break from seeing my mug posted in every entry, so here are some products from the MAC summer collections, starting with Cool Heat. I was excited to see the collection, and when I did, I wasn't disappointed because the cool green and blue shades are just gorgeous, although I have to admit that there were several shades that were similar to others in my stash. Just the same, I do love the teals, greens, blue-greens and the amazingly vibrant in the tube but very wearable Slimshine lippies:

I love the new Slimshines because I think (I'm not sure) MAC re-formulated them to be a little bit more sheer than the originally-released Slimshines (I have several of those). I like the fact that even though these may seem scary in the tube, they come out really sheer, amazingly glossy, and just perfect for summer. I am scared of loud lips because I always wear eye makeup, but these Slimshines aren't scary at all.

I LOVE Cool Heat eyeshadow. It has been compared to Big-T from last year's C-Shock collection. I love Cool Heat both in texture and color pay-off. It's an amazingly rich teal with buttery slip and texture. It is not as common as straight-up blues and greens, and would be perfect for summer getaways and balmy nights out in the town. Warm Chill reminds me of Meadowland, although in terms of color pay-off, I prefer Meadowland much better. Blue Flame has been compared to Deep Truth. I have Deep Truth but I don't use it often. I think I prefer using Blue Flame over Deep Truth to deepen the crease or for smokey blue looks. I just like the deeper color and the slip of Blue Flame. I likewise compared Blue Flame to Blue Storm from the collection last year of the same name. They are different as you can see in the swatches - Blue Storm has some purple undertones infused in it.

See how Warm Chill looks washed out compared to Meadowland, and how the rest stand out? I used Soft Ochre paint pot as base for these swatches.

Dazzleglass

I may be too late in the day to join the bandwagon, but I have tried the dazzleglasses and I find them just perfect for summer. I can't say I am super in love with them, but I can't say I hate them either. I must admit though that they remind me of my favorite Sex Ray lipglass from the Lure collection of two years ago, and while a lot of people hated the chunky glitter, I absolutely loved it in Sex Ray. As for the Dazzleglasses, the shine IS truly dazzling, and I see them being worn by beach babes, or during parties, but I also see it being worn as an everyday gloss because the pigment is very sheer. The colors are never garish or stark on the lips. I think I would prefer to wear these over lipsticks.

Solar Bits

Okay, so I know that these are very messy to work with, and will crease if you use a creamy base like CCBs, but I have to try these out for myself, especially Black Ore. I have seen some amazing looks using Black Ore, and I can't wait to play. Check back and I will try to come up with a look using these.
