Silver Belle

My family and I went to an amusement park/working farm for what they call the "Peach Festival", where everybody was invited to pick peaches from the orchard and do fun stuff like train rides, watching pig races, eating humongous pancakes with syrup and peaches on top, and shopping for organic figs, jam, pies, and different kinds of farm products. My little boy had his very first ride in a roller coaster inside the park, and we thought he would cry but he was actually so thrilled to ride it!

All those activities done under the scorching 95 degree sun really made me darker than when I first entered the farm that morning. NOW I have to revamp my mineral foundation shades! Aaarrggghh. The quest continues for my perfect summer shade. In this look, I used Monave foundation in Saturnina which seemed okay because it used to be a little dark on me. Now, I can wear this shade straight without mixing.

That night, I brought my brothers (who are vacationing with us) to meet with some of my friends and their friends (we were 13 in all) at a club. Here's a smokey silver look I wore for that night. Let me be the first to say that I wish I'd done it more smokey grey than silver, because I feel that the silver overwhelmed the smokiness I was trying to project. Oh well, maybe next time.

Here's a step-by-step illustration. All products MAC unless otherwise stated.


Apply Beige-ing shadestick all over lid and browbone up to the brow, blending with forefinger. Apply Silver Fog pigment foiled on lid.


Apply Rondelle from inner to mid-lid over Silver Fog using a shader brush (239 or similar).


Apply Silver Ring shadow blended with Knight Divine eyeshadow on outer lid using 222 brush.


Now I don't have close-up photos of the next step as I was in a hurry, but this is a similar look from a past silver eye look I posted on this blog. The difference is that I didn't apply Rondelle over Silver Fog, and in my current look, I applied the eyeshadow higher on my lid, going past the crease. Anyways, I used Carbon eyeshadow to deepen the crease, applied Nylon and Ricepaper eyeshadows to highlight, applied Blacktrack fluidline on upper lashline and Graphblack technakohl to waterline. I applied Rondelle on inner lower lashline and Pandamonium on outer lower lashline. I also used the same type of falsies, Ardell #105.


Just a note: I didn't over-do my blush. =D I turn really red when I drink alcohol because I am allergic to it. That said, I only had one drink and that was it. The rest were Shirley Temples. =D
