Some More Neutral Looks

I'm still on my neutral kick, so I apologize for the countless neutral EOTDs. As soon as I feel summer's full brunt (oh yes, summer still hasn't unleashed its full fury here), I will post more colorful eye looks.

I've also used my Meow foundation in Purrrfect Puss Naughty Chartreux, and it likewise works for me. I just prefer my Flawless Feline in Naughty Abyssinian over it. I tried my Feliner (eye liner) in Cat-astrophic, and it is indeed a vibrant brick red. I really don't feel it's a favorite though; I like Bare Escentuals shadow liner in Black Ruby better. However, I am amazed at the Feliner's intense color and great staying power. Love, love, love.

How do you manage to blend those eyes so well? Makes me so envious. All I can do is the three colours for dummies look.

1 highlighter under browbone, 1 for entire lid, and then 1 for liner.

Hi, thanks! =) I would say the eye primer and the correct brushes help a lot. I use the MAC shadestick as a base. It makes the colors appear more vibrant, and helps the shadows last longer on the lids and eases difficulty in blending. I use a tapered blending brush (like MAC's 224) to apply crease and outer V colors. This brush deposits darker colors lightly without looking muddy. I also suggest using another tapered blending brush to blend the colors together, starting from the lightest blending toward the darker colors. HTH!

well that explains a few things.

i tried out my sample of sweat paws today. looked nothing like the vibrant silver on your eyes from that previous post...

tapered blending brush? will that look a bit like a lip brush? i can't find a picture of it to show you right now.

Susanna - er... I do the three colors for dummies look, too. *wince*

Aileen - Your blending skills are superb. I think I need to get some better brushes! (oh no, time to spend more money)

Lili and Susanna - you don't need expensive brushes! Here are the ones I use:

The white-handled ones are from Sonia Kashuk (available at target), the last one is Japonesque. The last two are the tapered blending brushes. MAC's version is the 224. These brands all work great for blending and applying the crease and outer V colors.

thanks, Aileen! Now I know what a tapered blending brush is, and am happy to report that I actually own two of these! (one Lumiere synthetic, one a different brand/sable)
