So what is a makeup junkie's greatest dream? To have a truckload of cosmetics to try? Nah. Most of them will expire in a few years (except mineral makeup, which doesn't expire if not exposed to moisture and other elements). What about a $1000 gift certificate from Sephora or your favorite cosmetics website? Nah, you can only have so much makeup, for the same reason as above. So what is a makeup addict's most cherished wish? What about the skill to be able to create your own makeup, to be able to whip up colors that would naturally and beautifully suit your skintone, to be able to create hues that are tailor-made for you? I believe that would be my greatest dream as a cosmetic junkie. Unfortunately, though, I have never tried creating my own makeup - I neither have the patience nor the time. My friend Dayna has this amazing ability to create her own mineral makeup that is just custom-made for her, to tweak mineral ingredients in order to come up with mineral foundations that look like second skin. And by golly, she did. Ever the generous soul, she sent me some of her foundations and blushes, and these totally blew me away. They look better on me than many commercial mineral makeup out in the market. She told me this particular recipe would suit my skintone, and she was spot on. I just used this Dayna foundation that had the following ingredients: 3/8 c. base, 1 1/8 tsp yellow, 3/8 tsp brown, 1/8 tsp black, and I was amazed at how it melded into my skin. My skin looked un-flat, it looked alive and lit from within. I also used her blush #2 and I absolutely love it; I love matte blushes especially during this intense summer heat, and Dayna's blush is rich and deeply pigmented. Thanks a lot Dayna, I absolutely love your makeup! When I work up enough courage to grind minerals and mix them, I will try your mineral makeup recipe.

Wow! Dayna's foundation really looks great on you. It looks like you are not wearing make-up at all - the colour and the sheen matches the rest of your skin perfectly.
Thank you Sara! Dayna's a genius.
