Here's the continuation of my OPI James Bond: Skyfall Collection swatches. In my OPI James Bond Skyfall Swatches and Review Part 1, I mentioned that it's a nail polish collection from OPI that celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the iconic James Bond, who appears in Skyfall starring Daniel Craig and Javier Bardem. This highly-anticipated film opens in theaters November 9th.
Here are the rest of the nail polishes from this collection!
OPI Die Another Day (sunlight)
(shade)
OPI Die Another Day is a metallic bright red, like a flaming red on your nails when light hits it. This is one of the more interesting reds I own.
OPI You Only Live Twice (sunlight)
(shade)
OPI You Only Live Twice is a deep magenta-raspberry glass fleck finish with lots of gold particles. Nice, pretty color especially if you love berries.
OPI Casino Royale (sunlight)
(shade)
OPI Casino Royale is a red-based purple cream. I think I have a lot of shades like this so I'm not particularly excited about this shade.
OPI Skyfall (sunlight)
(shade)
OPI Skyfall is an unusual color. It's like a light red-brown, but OPI describes this as maroon. Not my favorite shade of the bunch but it is nice on the right skintone- very fall-ish.
OPI The Living Daylights over OPI Skyfall (sunlight)
(shade)
OPI The Living Daylights is an unusual combination of copper, blue, silver round glitters in a clear base. If not for its unusual color combination, it would look like any other typical glitter polish I own, but I love the pairing of the copper with the blue and silver, and how the copper glitter really stands out.
OPI The Living Daylights (sunlight)
OPI The Living Daylights over OPI Tomorrow Never Dies (sunlight)
OPI The Living Daylights over OPI Tomorrow Never Dies (shade)
OPI Tomorrow Never Dies is actually a metallic bright purple, so I don't know why it comes out blue in my photos - or may be I do. I think the sun's glare is making it look blue than it really is. I will try to re-do this swatch. In reality, though, it's a rich, purple metallic that kinda looks similar to some of the OPI lacquers that I already own.
As I said in my previous review of this collection, I was happy with the way OPI experimented with a lot of finishes and textures for this collection. Instead of producing a lot of creme finishes, I liked that OPI tries to vary the textures by adding glass fleck, metallic, glitter finishes. My favorites from this collection are GoldenEye, The Spy Who Loved Me, The Living Daylights and You Only Live Twice. I am not too happy with some of the shades that look like they were rehashed from previous collections, but it was just a couple of shades that I didn't find too unique. I also like the rich shades that go well with fall, winter and holiday seasons. The runaway winner from this collection for me is hands down GoldenEye. I believe it's the best metallic gold I own, and believe me, I have a lot. I love the rich, buttery, blindingly metallic finish. I hope OPI comes up with more finishes and textures like GoldenEye.
The Shades Of U Rating: 4.0 out of 5
