OPI Skyfall is here! It's a nail polish collection from OPI that celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the iconic James Bond, who appears in Skyfall starring Daniel Craig and Javier Bardem. This highly-anticipated film opens in theaters November 9th.
I was able to play with twelve of these new shades from OPI, and my first thought was I was SO glad OPI did not opt to churn out cream after cream after cream nail polishes for this collection! I am happy with the way OPI experimented with a lot of finishes and textures for this collection. Here are my swatches and thoughts on the first six polishes:
OPI GoldenEye (sunlight)
(shade)
OPI GoldenEye is my top favorite out of everything from this collection. Sure, it's your gold nail polish, but it's not your typical gold. I have a vast collection of nail polishes, but this is the only gold I have which has a really vibrant, rich sunshine gold, which glistens like it's almost Minx nails. When I stare at my nails, the shade has a really luxurious look to it. Love this.
OPI On Her Majesty's Secret Service (sunlight)
(shade)
OPI On Her Majesty's Secret Service is a misty-green pewter glass fleck. It reminds me of Zoya's glass-fleck polishes that have a myriad of glistening colored glasslike particles. This is a pewter shade with a lot of green, purple, magenta, and gold flecks. Really pretty.
OPI Moonraker (sunlight)
(shade)
I am not too sure about OPI Moonraker. It is such a streaky formula. It's obviously a metallic grey, but the formula emphasizes the ridges of the nails that I'm not very happy with. I like the shade but not the finish.
OPI Live and Let Die (sunlight)
(shade)
OPI Live and Let Die reminds me of China Glaze Cast A Spell from their Halloween 2012 collection. Although the base color of OPI Live and Let Die is a lot darker and more of like a greyish black while Cast a Spell is obviously green, the glass fleck particles are similar - lots of green and copper glass flecks.
OPI The World Is Not Enough (sunlight)
(shade)
OPI The World Is Not Enough is described as a rosy silver, and this also has the glass fleck formula. The flecks flash green and magenta. A nice shade because even with the shimmer it looks neutral and office-appropriate.
OPI The Spy Who Loved Me (sunlight)
(shade)
OPI The Spy Who Loved Me is my next favorite after GoldenEye. This red shade is to die for. It is a beautiful fiery red-orange with tons of gold flecks. It certainly looks very festive, holiday-appropriate and perfect for fall and winter.
All in all, I am liking the shades and finishes of this collection. As I said, I am glad OPI is experimenting with finishes and textures and not just churning out tons of cream finishes. I like all of the formula in this bunch with the exception of Moonraker. Check out Part 2 of the OPI Skyfall Collection Swatches and Review here!

I am not to impress with the collection but some of the nail polishes are cute.
