The Powder to the People Powder is part of the MAC Beth Ditto collection that comes out in stores tomorrow, June 7, 2012. It is marketed as a powder, but I see this more as a multi-dimensional product, with the individual colors being used as shadows, and swirled or blended as a cheek color. I do however think that this fails as a cheek color if the blue shade is used, because, as you can see in the swatches, the blue shade makes the blended shade look dirty and muddy. Not a pretty sight. It is better as a cheek color without the blue, which is easy to avoid because the blue dots are on opposite sides of the compact.

This would be a good powder for travel because this already doubles as your eye shadow and blush compact. You can use the individual shades as shadows and you can use a stippling or fluffy blush brush to apply your cheek color. The eyeshadow (or individual) shades are okay in pigmentation- they are not super duper pigmented, but they are not extremely lacking either. The cheek color without the blue can be pretty because it is like a peachy pink in some angles, and terracotta brick red in others.

I am not overly impressed with the formula, but I guess this earns some points for the multi-purpose function. I am not so sure why the blue should be in this because it is not a particularly flattering blue on most skintones. It could have been included as a pop of color in an otherwise almost monochromatic palette.

All in all, I would not recommend this as the colors are not that unique, and the formula is not particularly excellent, although it is decent.

Pros: good for travel, multi-purpose (eye shadow, cheek color), decent formula and staying power, nice blend of colors (except the blue)

Cons: the blended shade looks muddy when the blue shade is included, nothing too exciting in terms of shade or formula
