Stila Convertible Color in Lillicent and Peony Swatches and Review

Lillicent, Peony

I would have to say that Stila Convertible Cheek and Lip colors are my favorite blushes as of the moment. I have a lot of powder blushes, but I am drawn to cream blushes right now, maybe because it's spring and summer is coming, and these cream blushes look creamier and more natural that are perfect for the warmer weather. I also like how cream blushes give a really creamy, sheer, lit-from-within look on the cheeks. I have tried several cream blushes but the Stila Convertible is one of my favorites.

Lillicent and Peony are actually close cousins, with Lillicent being a peachier version and Peony being a dustier, pinkier version.  As many know, these are convertible lip and cheek cream stains, but I don't use these on the lips as they really disappear or fade quickly, and have this weird texture.  As a cream blush, though, this is an absolute fave of mine.  I apply this using one of my Coastal Scents Kabuki on a stick which is perfect for applying this.  I think the texture of this product is too tacky or sticky to use with duo-fibre brushes like the MAC 188, as the fibres have a hard time controlling the sticky cream.  With the Kabuki-on-a-stick, though, the dense head controls the product and you can apply and blend at the same time using this brush.

As I said, they are tacky, but not to the point that they bother me.  I like both of these shades as they look very natural and they are perfect everyday blushes for me.  They are rather small, though, so I know I will finish them up quickly if I don't use them sparingly.  They also fade quicker than powder blushes, so I use my 188 (this is where the duo fibre comes handy) to apply translucent powder over the blush to set it and prevent  premature fading.

All in all, I love these blushes.  Even the darker ones can be applied lightly and it will look like a beautiful lit-from-within color.

Pros: creamy, lit-from-within, natural-looking

Cons: sticky, you have to set with a translucent powder to prevent fading

The Shades Of U Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
