This was my first time to try Jesse's Girl High Intensity nail color, and I am so glad I was sent this shade. Jesse's Girl in Firefly looks boring in the bottle but if you look closely, it's a shimmer base with gorgeous iridescent gold micro shimmer. When applied over nail polish especially a cream one, it morphs into this amazing shimmer burst with tons of iridescent gold sheen. As you can see in the photos above, it really kicks cream nail polish up a notch or two. The polishes I used underneath are straight-up creams, no shimmer whatsover. And yet, Firefly makes them look spectacularly festive. I am wearing Firefly over Savina nail lacquer in Carribean right now, and I couldn't stop staring at my tips all day. Now I want to apply this over all my cream polishes!
We know that nail polish companies are churning out different kinds of top coats nowadays - glitter, flakie, holo and crackle topcoats are all the rage. However, I can honestly say that Jesse's Girl in Firefly is one of my top favorite funky topcoats. It's a marriage of a glitter and duochrome with lots of shine and shimmer going on. I also like how the shimmer particles are not chunky glitters but micro in size. These remind me of those shifting duochrome polishes like Orly's Mineral FX or Cosmic FX, or Zoya Wicked collection, or OPI It's My Year from the Miss Universe Collection, shown below:
This time, however, you can turn any cream polish into something like this by applying Jesse's Girl Firefly over it. My new favorite topcoat indeed. My only gripe is that I can't purchase it in brick and mortar stores because we don't have Rite Aid in our state, so I can only purchase Jesse's Girl Cosmetics on their website at Jessesgirlcosmetics.com. Watch out for more reviews on Jesse's Girl products!
