Here's the last installment of my swatches and review of the MAC Semi-Precious collection. If you have not done so yet, check out my MAC Semi-Precious Eye Shadow swatches and review, as well as my MAC Mineralize Blush and Mineralize Skinfinish Swatches and Review.
Let's start with the lipsticks. I am particularly loving two out of the three lipsticks in this collection because they are shades I always use. Gem of Roses (makes me sing "Bed of Roses" everytime I see it) is a mid-tone strawberry pink that is so cute, very office-appropriate and lovely for the summer. This is my favorite, and I guess a lot of other people like this too. It is a lustre so it goes on smooth and creamy on the lips. The color is not as strong as satin or matte formulas, but it gives a luscious shine that is really pretty.
One of a Kind is another one I like, a mid-tone rosy plum. It is also a lustre in formula. MAC describes it as a neutral although I really don't see it as such because it's a tad too dark to be described as a neutral for me.
I am not a fan of Musky Amethyst as I feel it is too dark for my skintone- a deep plum that screams fall to me.

Funny how one's preference/perspective can stay the same after a few years! I wrote the post below a couple of years ago in early 2009 when MAC first came up with the Cremesheen Glasses. I still have basically the same thoughts about it, but I don't hate the doefoot applicators that much anymore- although I still prefer brushes for these:
The cremesheen glasses have doe-foot wand applicators that I don't care very much for; I wish they used brush applicators just like those of the dazzlegasses. The cremesheen glasses contain .09 oz of product for $18. That alone would prevent me from buying cremesheen glasses in the future. They are super expensive for the amount of product in the tube - half the product in a mini-lipglass from the Holiday sets! You might ask why I am a dazzleglass fan if they contain that little product - well it's because I just love the finish on me, and it lasts a super long time on the lips. The cremesheen glasses are beautiful - they glide well, have amazing scent (smells like vanilla cookies!) and pretty colors - but they are sheer and they didn't last long on my lips. If you are the type that likes to re-apply their glosses every so often (and believe me, I know some people who like to do that), then this would be a good product for you. I just prefer lipglasses, dazzleglasses and lustreglasses over the cremesheen glasses. Now if they are going to change the tubes and package them in lipglass tubes- I would definitely change my mind and snag those Cremesheen glasses in a heart beat, if only for the wonderful texture and shine (and scent!).
I still feel that they are very sheer on the lips - but because the formula is different from that of the lipglass, it is less sticky and more comfortable on the lips than the lipglass. If you don't like sticky glosses, the Cremesheen glass is the one for you. The fact that MAC created complementary shades of the cremesheen glass to wear in tandem with the lipsticks in this collection meant that MAC really intended these to be layering glosses- not really to be worn alone if you like pigmented lips - but to create a luscious look by layering over a lipstick.
Geo Pink looks amazing over Gem of Roses; they have the same strawberry pink shade. Richly Revered is a deep brown plum perfect over Musky Amethyst, and Natural Flare is a caramel nude that complements One of A Kind.
All in all, I prefer the lighter lipsticks and cremesheen glasses in this collection as I prefer to wear these for the office. Also, if you prefer non-sticky lipglosses, the Cremesheen glass is for you, although it is not as long-lasting as the tackier lipglasses.
