American Apparel Nail Polish and XL Nail Stamp Image Plates Haul
Monday, March 7, 2011
OMG, I am so stoked right now!! I celebrated my birthday last week and I got myself some nail-related stuff for my birthday. First of all, I don't know why I have never tried American Apparel nail polish before. All I know is that this is HG status for me. Creme is my favorite formula of nail polish, and when I found out that American Apparel has the most buttery, creamy, glides-like-a-dream creme polishes out there, I just had to snag them. I like no-fuss creme polish a lot better than those fussed-up glitters, duochromes, mattes, etc. I think cream polish is the most sophisticated out of all the nail polish formulas out there. That is why when I found out that AA has dozens of the most beautiful, no-glitter, no shimmer, no duo-chrome, no holo, straight-up cream polishes, I caved in.
See rest of the haul after the jump
L-R: Rose Bowl, Makeup, Hunter, Office, Army Jacket, Peacock, Berries, Factory Grey, L'Esprit, African Violet, Mouse (not in the picture is California Trooper)
On my birthday, I got my first batch of AA polishes. I got twelve of these and it was love at first sight. I kept taking the cap out of the bottle and loving the consistency and the creamy goodness. Then I used African Violet:
It was just amazing. It applied as smoothly as it looks. It glides on the nailbed like a dream, no streaks, opaque in one coat. Wow. I just knew I had to snag all the colors I wanted. At $15 for 3, they were even cheaper than the other brands I collect.
So here is my entire AA polish stash:
Swatches coming up soon!
Top: Barielle Coco Bar (??)
Bottom: Borghese Euro Green, Borghese Riviera Sunset, OPI Nicole Me + Blue from the Justin Bieber collection.
Then I was able to snag these polishes from ULTA. I got them because even though I have a lot of polishes, these colors and finishes are quite unique in my collection.
As for the Barielle one, the reason why there are question marks after the name is that I know that Coco Bar is a dark cocoa brown shade because I own one, and this is more of a bright deep red:
I compared it to Ecstacy and it's still different; it's a bit more subdued than Ecstacy, so I really don't how to make of this polish, but I love it because it is very unique compared to the other reds I own.
And finally - the most exciting haul!!

My XL image plates for nail stamping arrived today all the way from Germany!! This nice lady named Helena from Magnonails.de was kind enough to allow me to purchase these XL plates and have them shipped to the U.S. even though their website does not indicate that they actually ship here. I got a reasonable price, and I LOVE the fact that these can be used to make funky French tips (see the half-moon edges), but the huge images let you apply the designs on the entire nailbed as well. I am so excited to receive these and I cannot wait to play! I got XL plates A, B, and D. Aren't the designs amazing? I have tried some images on my toes and they transfer well. I will be posting some nail designs using these plates soon. Have a good night (or day)!

Happy Belated Birthday! I'm totally drooling over all those AA polishes. I haven't tried one before but they have some great colors.
Jennifer- you will love the AA polishes!! Buttery, smooth cremes!
Hi there,
I would love to order these XL stamping plates. I am in the US as well. Would you be able to give me Helena's email address? Does she speak English? I clicked on your website link and, unfortunately, I do not understand English. I don't know where on the website to click to contact her.
Thanks
Whoops! I meant I don't understand German, not English!!
Shy O.- please e-mail me and I will reply with her address. Thanks.
What methods of payment do they accept in magnonails? I would like to order some plates, I live in the US.
I ordered the plates, how long did it take for yours to arrive? I live in the U.S.
