MAC Viva Glam Cyndi and Viva Glam Gaga Lipglass Swatches and Review

I was given a chance to try the new MAC Viva Glam Cyndi and Viva Glam Gaga lipglasses as MAC's new offering as part of the MAC Viva Glam campaign that donates 100% of these lip products' proceeds to the MAC AIDS Fund.  I am excited to try these new lipglasses that are the lipgloss counterparts of the previous Viva Glam Gaga and Viva Glam Cyndi lipsticks.

MY TAKE: I am in love with the Viva Glam Cyndi lipglass. It is one of those non-neutral colors that really look good on my skintone. I have been always intimidated to wear non-neutral colors on my lips because I felt that they would look too bold. However, Cyndi is the perfect shade for me: a dirty mid-tone coral that is quite opaque and with no or very little pearl. I like that it is not as shimmery as other lipglasses, it is a cream lipglass, almost like a liquid lipstick.  For me it looks like a strawberry color.  So pretty.  I like the Cyndi lipglass better than the lipstick, actually, but the combination is also quite beautiful.

The Shades Of U Rating for Viva Glam Cyndi lipglass: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Viva Glam Gaga would work best on lighter to medium skintones, however, I feel some darker-skinned ladies will rock this as well, especially when paired with dramatic or smokey eyes.  I felt that with the right lipliner, this would look fab, but on its own, it's a little too blue-based pink for me.  Much too cool, I think.  I would love to apply this over a darker or warmer lippie.  As with Cyndi, Gaga is a cream lipglass without much (or no) pearl particles that give shimmer.  It does have a tendency to settle into lines, but I believe it would look better with a lipstick underneath, at least on my lips.

The Shades Of U Rating for Viva Glam Gaga lipglass: 4.0 out of 5 stars

The best part is that, of course, each lipglass will retail for $14.50 with 100% of the selling cost donated to the M·A·C AIDS Fund.  This will be out in stores and counters starting September 2, 2010 in North America and in October 2010 at International locations, and will be available only through February 2011.

Note:  Media samples were provided by a representative of the company for consideration and evaluation.
