I was able to play with some of the products from the MAC To The Beach collection, but I decided to split the reviews and swatches because I am too tired to make a full review tonight, and also because there is a substantial number of items in this collection. If you are looking forward to summer and sun-kissed, golden skin, then this is the collection for you. The title of the collection itself heralds the onset of summer and all the warm-weather concepts (and makeup looks) it brings.

I will start off with the bronzer products in this collection:

Top L-R: Cream Bronzer in Weekend, blush in Get-Away Bronze
Bottom: Bronzing Powder in Refined Golden

Refined Golden bronzing powder

Let's start with the Refined Golden. I've had this since three years ago and I am still using this shade to this day. It's described as finely spin golden with soft pearl finish. I apply this using my MAC 109 brush and use this on the hollows of my cheeks, as well as areas where light hits, such as temples and nose, to give warmth to my skin. I use this both as a contour powder and bronzer, and I have not been disappointed. This is a staple in my daily makeup application.

Cream Bronzer in Weekend

This is my first time to use cream bronzer. It of course operates like a cream blush. You can apply this on your skin using clean fingers and blend using the same or a brush. The 130 Short Fibre brush that is also part of this collection would be a great tool to apply this product as well. This cream bronzer gives this natural look because the pigment doesn't sit on top of the skin but blends into the skin to make a lit-from-within look, or in this case, "bronzed-from-within". Weekend is described as a mid-tone orange brown with soft pink pearl. Some people totally hate orange in their bronzers, but I don't find this product orangey at all. It is more bronzey brown on my skin, and I am liking how huge the compact is. This will definitely last you a while.

I think this is my favorite bronzer/blush, just because it is shimmery enough to be used as a blush and dark enough to be used as a bronzer, but it is not TOO dark. In fact, Get-Away Bronze is described as a mid-tone suntan, so this would be a great blush for darker skin and bronzer for lighter skin. I also love the shimmer.

Hipness Blush from the Fafi Collection

Hipness swatch

Hipness is a repromote from the Fafi collection. It's a soft coral with white pearl that would go great with the bronzers from this collection. It is one of my favorite MAC blushes and it always goes well with my peach, bronze or neutral makeup looks.

All in all, if you are looking for a bronzer, you might find a product that is tailor-made for you in the MAC To The Beach collection because the products for a glorious, sun-kissed look come in a variety of forms (cream or powder) as well as finishes (frost, shimmer or pearl finish). I firmly believe that you cannot be too light or dark-skinned to wear bronzer. A good bronzer gives depth and warmth to the skin and gives a nice, non-pasty color and glow to the complexion. Check out these bronzers from the new collection if you are in need of something to bring out the bronzed glow that is the signature summer look.

Stay tuned for the rest of the MAC To The Beach collection swatches and reviews.
