Adorned With Grace's Mineral Shimmer Blushes
Tuesday, March 3, 2009
In THIS entry, I had featured a look using samples of my Adorned With Grace glows. They are absolutely gorgeous even when they were just in miniscule baggies. They have the most beautiful sheen, and yet they didn't look metallic, glittery or over-the-top. They give just a subtle but noticeable sheen that blurs imperfections and gives a dewy, youthful appearance. I loved them so much that I really wanted to get all of them.
My sample baggies of Adorned With Grace's glows
When I searched for them on the site, however, I just couldn't find the glows. I e-mailed Franchesca (the owner), and she told me they were actually re-named "Shimmer Blushes". Furthermore, the names of the shades were changed as well. Personally, though, I would have preferred that the glows (or shimmer blushes now) retained their original names because they were more "apt" and less confusing, but I understand why Franchesca renamed them and the new names were of course consistent with the philosophy and name of the brand. Here are some of the shades' original names and the new ones:
Pink Honey (now Tenderness)
Golden Peach (now Glamorous)
Rose Pink (now Lovely)
Sheer Pink (now Dainty)
Lavender Glow (now Audacious)
All of them were so gorgeous that I really couldn't pick a few ones. I told Franchesca that I would be getting a lot of full sizes as birthday gifts to myself, and she gave me a really good deal for all ten! I couldn't believe I got such a steep discount for these amazing glows. Thanks so much Franchesca!

The swatches were applied dry with a heavy hand so the underlying color and the shimmer would show through the glare of the flash. However, these would be gorgeous applied lightly alone or over matte blushes with a stippling or duo fiber brush.
I guess my absolute faves would be Dainty, Ardent, Glamorous, Fascinating, Dazzling, and Lovely. These can be used as either blushes or highlighters, but some would be too light to use as a blush, like Dazzling or even Dainty, for example. These two would be uber-gorgeous as highlighters, though.
All in all, these shimmer blushes are definitely amazing buys. They remind me so much of MAC beauty powders (the shimmery ones) and some of the mineralize skinfinishes that don't have glitter or uber-metallic finishes. I can't wait to try them all.

THanks for the swatches, Aileen! I love the shimmer blushes too...the samples Franchesca sent make it so tempting to want to get them all! So far I keep going back and forth between Fascinating and Sensational; I haven't even tried all 8 samples I got (before Bemused and Dazzling (?) got added).
Keep up the great work on the blog!
